Warpole OES member and Past Patron, Tom Zeigler, was recently awarded the coveted Earl C Gifford Distinguished Service Award of The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio at their convention held in Independence. From their Grand Chapter code: Subject award shall be made to those Companions selected by the Awards Committee and Grand High Priest from nominations made in accordance with the prescribed form and qualifications listed thereon. The number of awards given during the Capitular Year shall not exceed four (4).  Tom was then installed the next day as the new Grand Fraternal Correspondent (GFC). A description of his new duties are: The GFC shall review all foreign communications and proceedings submitted to him and report thereon to the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons. This office is an appointed grand officer made by the new Grand High Priest, J Keith Green from the Toledo area.  Although not revealed in the award presentation, we believe it is due in part to his service to the local Royal Arch Chapter and his outstanding Web site he maintains as their Webmaster for many years.  In addition to being a Past Patron of our Warpole Chapter, he is a former member and Past Master Councilor of the DeMolay Chapter. He is also a past presiding officer of all three Masonic groups in Upper Sandusky and Past Commander of DeMolay Commandery in Tiffin, qualifying him to his election as a member in Ohio Priory #18, Knights of the York Cross of Honour.  The only other two men selected for this prestigious award from Upper Sandusky are John P Miller and Robert W Case. Both were heroes of Tom, he is in very good company, congratulations Tom.
